You have a to-read list longer than your arm. You cancel plans to stay home with a book and feel zero guilt about it. You choose holiday destinations based on how good the reading spots are. You have strong opinions about whether dog-earing pages is acceptable. You need some time to read, rest, repeat.I made this retreat for you. I call it: read-treat! :)

Picture this. A weekend in August. A historic Swedish manor by a lake. You wake up with no alarm, have breakfast at your own pace, then spend the morning reading in whatever spot calls to you: by the water, in the gardens, curled up somewhere quiet inside.Around you, a small group of fellow book lovers is doing exactly the same thing. Some will be deep in their third chapter before coffee. Others will surface for conversation over lunch and disappear again until dinner. Nobody is keeping score.When you feel like company there is plenty of it: a fika in the manor lounge as the light goes golden, a boat out on the lake with someone who also brought their book, a long unhurried dinner with people who want nothing more but to discuss yours and their latest read.There will be a few gentle bookish moments along the way too: blind date book swap, an optional discussion of our community-voted retreat book, a picnic by the lake... Come to all of it, some of it or none of it.This is your weekend.

THE PLACE

Toftaholm Herrgård is a 19th century manor estate on the shores of Lake Vidöstern in the heart of Småland, one of Sweden's most beautiful and storied landscapes.The estate sits alongside Toftaholm Nature Reserve - a beautiful landscape of old oak forests, flowering meadows and lakeside paths, perfect for a gentle walk between chapters.The scenery includes rolling forests, still water and yellow manor buildings, with more beautiful reading spots than you will have time to try.

The manor has been welcoming guests for generations. Each room is individually decorated in a classic style with its own character, the food is made with local ingredients, and the eco-spa by the lake with wood-fired hot tubs, barrel saunas and a solar-heated relaxation room is just one more thing to look forward to this weekend.

It is about three and a half hours from Malmö and Stockholm by train, with a direct bus connection from the station, so it is very easily accessible by public transport.If you are driving, Toftaholm also has extensive electric car charging on site.

PRICING

Early bird: 6,500 SEK per person, shared double room (valid until May 31st)
Full price: 7,500 SEK per person, shared double room (from June 1st)
Single room supplement: 1,000 SEK (limited availability)
All prices include VAT.All prices are per person. Shared rooms are double rooms between two guests. If you are booking with a friend let me know and I will make sure you are in the same room. If you are coming solo you will be matched with another solo guest.A deposit of 2,500 SEK is required to secure your spot and is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due 45 days before the retreat (July 7th).Know someone who would love this? Bring a friend and you both get 500 SEK off your final balance! Just mention it in the booking form and I will sort it.Payment
Payment can be made by bank transfer or Swish. An invoice will be issued for all bookings.Cancellation policy:Deposits are non-refundable.
Cancellation more than 30 days before the retreat (July 21st): full refund minus the deposit.
Cancellation less than 30 days before the retreat (July 22nd and onward): no refund.
You may transfer your spot to a friend at any time at no charge, subject to host approval.

ABOUT YOUR HOST

Hi, I'm Tasha!
A few years ago I moved to Malmö with my husband, knowing virtually nobody else. So I did what any self-respecting nerd does in that situation - I joined a book club. Then another one. Then I started my own: Bookwyrm Club, an English-language fantasy book club based in Malmö with a growing community of fellow readers and nerds. And from that, this retreat came to be.I am an entrepreneur and community builder, a cat mum, a TTRPG enthusiast, a fantasy obsessive, and someone who is terrible at keeping plants alive but very good at bringing people together around the things they love. Above all though, my first and truest love are books and all the incredible worlds you get to visit through them. I am also told I am in way too many book clubs (as if there is such a thing!).This read-treat is my favorite project yet: a whole weekend in a beautiful place with a small group of people who love books as much as I do. I will be there the whole time, making sure everything runs smoothly and sneaking in as many reading hours as I can.Can't wait to meet you and read together!
